Professional Learning Committee
Committee Members
The members of the Professional Learning Committee represent each of the twelve PAGE districts and two at-large members, one representing small school districts; one representing large school districts. The committee members promote and exemplify the core business of PAGE; plan, organize and assist in the development and implementation of the PAGE Summer and Fall Conferences; serve as ambassadors for PAGE at Fall and Summer Conferences and other PAGE events and activities; are trained as Learning Curves facilitators; serve as an ad hoc committee for membership concerns, National Board Certification issues and as an advisory group on professional learning programs.
Members serve a three year term and are recommended by the Membership Services Representative and District Director of the respective district.

Organizational Procedures
Purpose: The committee considers and makes recommendations on professional learning programs, publications, research and membership services that will enhance the professional growth of PAGE members and advance the core business of the Association.
Objectives/Goals/Duties: The committee shall:
- Promote and exemplify the core business of PAGE.
- Plan, organize, and assist as needed in the development and implementation of the PAGE Summer and Fall Conferences.
- Serve as ambassadors of PAGE at Fall and Summer Conferences as well as other PAGE meetings.
- Be trained as Learning Curves facilitators.
- Serve as an ad hoc committee for National Board Certification issues, concerns,and procedures.
- Serve as an advisory group on professional learning programs.
- Serve as an ad hoc committee for membership issues and concerns.
Membership: Membership is composed of one representative from each director’s district, plus two at-large members, one representing large school districts and one representing small school districts. All members of the committee are nominated. Persons may be nominated by a member of the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees, or a Membership Service Representative. If you are interested in serving on the Professional Learning Committee, you should inform your Membership Services Representative or the member of the Board of Directors serving your district. A PAGE member may nominate himself/herself. All persons nominated are considered for appointment to the committee. If there are multiple nominations from a district, only one person will be selected. All committee members must be a current member of PAGE. If a person’s PAGE membership lapses, he/she must resign from the committee.
Length of Term: Committee members serve staggered three-year terms. If a person cannot fulfill his/her service term, a replacement will be named by the Director of Professional Learning for the remainder of the term. The term of service begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the three year service period.
Meeting Times and Dates: The committee shall meet three times per year, July 1-June 30. Meetings shall be held in concurrence with the Fall Conference and the Summer Conference and members are expected to attend. A Spring Meeting shall be announced annually. Ad hoc committees shall be convened on an as-needed basis. Correspondence by e-mail shall be used to inform and gather information from members.
Expenses: The mileage, lodging, and food expenses are paid for each member attending a conference or PAGE activity. Fall and summer conference registrations are also paid.
Voting: Issues requiring a decision are decided by a majority vote of the members present.
Staff to the Committee: The Director of Professional Learning serves as staff to the committee and is responsible for directing and approving the work of the committee.
