2009 Session Final Report (Sine Die!)

April 20, 2009 - The 2009 session of the Georgia General Assembly ended (Sine Die) on Friday, April 3, 2009.  The 2009 Legislative Session is particularly notable because it was plagued by the worst state budget situation in recent history. Read the extensive wrap-up report from PAGE by clicking here.

One important correction to the report that you will read is as follows:

In the item, "Contract Deadlines Extended and Changes to Education Leadership Degrees," under HB 455, school systems may wait until May 15, 2009, to extend contracts for the upcoming school year. Systems may also delay until May 15, 2009, to tender notice of non-renewal to educators.

(The prior listserv item had the deadline as March 15, 2009 which was incorrect.)
